The information we collect

When you enquire, we collect your name, email address, telephone number and whatever you choose to tell us about what you are looking for.

When you place an order, we collect billing and delivery details and the address where the safe is to be installed. Card payments are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your full card details.

When you use this website, we collect standard technical information such as IP address, browser type and the pages you visit.

Why we use it, and our lawful basis

To answer your enquiry and prepare a quotation. Our basis is that this is necessary to take steps at your request before entering into a contract.

To design, build, deliver, install and support your safe. Our basis is performance of our contract with you.

To keep the records we are required by law to keep, including for tax. Our basis is legal obligation.

To keep this site secure, to improve it, and to contact you about our work where you have not asked us not to. Our basis is our legitimate interests.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for automated decision-making or profiling.

Discretion

We sell security products to private clients. We treat the fact that you own an Arcana safe, and the address at which it is installed, as confidential. We share that information only as set out below, and we never use a client name, address or photograph in our marketing without written permission.

Who we share it with

Manufacturing partners and installers, where they need the information to fulfil your order, and always under obligations of confidentiality.

Service providers who run parts of our business for us, including website hosting, email and payment processing.

Our professional advisers, and public authorities where the law requires it.

Where your information is held

Some of our providers process personal information outside the United Kingdom. Where they do, we rely either on UK adequacy regulations or on standard contractual clauses approved for use in the UK.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not lead to an order are kept for up to 24 months.

Order, installation and accounting records are kept for seven years after the end of our relationship, to meet tax and accounting requirements.

Specification and warranty records may be kept for the working life of the safe, so that it can be serviced, re-keyed or repaired years after it was supplied.

Your rights

You have the right to ask us for a copy of your personal information, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to how we use it, to receive it in a portable form, and to withdraw consent where we rely on it.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner. The ICO can be reached at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

Cookies

This site uses cookies that are necessary for it to work. Where we use analytics or any other non-essential cookies, we ask for your consent first, and you can withdraw it at any time through your browser settings.

Security

We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal information against loss, misuse and unauthorised access, and we require the same of the suppliers who handle it on our behalf.
